2024 Carson Scholars Honored At Howard County Public School System
Nearly 3 dozen HCPSS students have been named first-time and recognized Carson Scholars, the school district has announced.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Thirty-one Howard County Public School System students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and dedication to serving their communities have been recognized as 2024 Carson Scholars, including eight students who were named first-time scholars, according to HCPSS.
The scholars program is open to all students in grades 4-11 in the United States. Students must have a grade point average of 3.75 or above on a 4.0 scale. They also must demonstrate humanitarian qualities in both school and community.
Recognized Carson Scholars renew their status by maintaining high academic standards and continuing to show strong commitment to their communities. Each first-time scholar receives a monetary college scholarship award. Both first-time and recognized scholars will be honored during a celebration in May.
