3 Robberies In Columbia Over The Weekend: Police
Robbers targeted female pedestrians and one business in Columbia over the weekend, police reported.

COLUMBIA, MD — Three robberies were reported in Columbia in less than 24 hours over the weekend, according to the Howard County Police Department. One involved a business, and in two cases, the suspects were armed.
The Exxon in the 8300 block of Benson Drive was robbed at gunpoint, according to police. The holdup occurred at 6:03 a.m. on Nov. 11.
An employee said that a mustached man with his face partly covered came into the store and showed he had a handgun, then demanded cash, according to police. The employee complied, and the suspect left.

The suspect was described as a black man with a mustache who was 6-feet-1-inch to 6-feet-3-inches tall. He was wearing a green jacket and white shoes at the time of the holdup, police said.
The night before, police said that a woman was walking when she was approached by two men who stole her purse. The pedestrian was robbed in the 7300 block of Eden Brook Drive.

At 7:49 p.m., police said that two men wearing dark jackets came up to her, took her purse, and ran away. Nobody was injured.
Several hours earlier, there was another robbery of a pedestrian. A woman was walking on the Lake Elkhorn path when a man with his face partly covered showed that he had a sharp object and demanded money.
The victim said she had no money, and the suspect ran away, according to officials. He was described as a teen wearing a dark jacket. The robbery attempt happened on the Lake Elkhorn path near the 9500 block of Sylvan Dell around 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 10, police said.
