Several Injuries Reported In Multi-Vehicle Pileup Involving A Semi In Howard County

A pick-up, SUVs and a tractor-trailer were involved in a multi-car pileup in Howard County.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Maryland State Police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that injured four people in Howard County. Shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday, troopers from the Waterloo Barrack were called to westbound Interstate 70 in the area of Route 94, in Woodbine.

According to a preliminary investigation by the state police, the driver of a Kia Sportage rear-ended a Toyota Tundra pick-up truck, which then crashed into a Honda Civic. A tractor-trailer then hit the three vehicles in the roadway. Four people in the Kia were flown by medevac to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore where they were treated for their injuries.

I-70 westbound was closed for several hours in the area after the crash. Officers continue to investigate the accident.
