4 Teens Arrested In Burglaries This Week: Columbia Police Blotter
Teens were charged in two burglaries this week in Columbia, plus more crimes reported in the area to the Howard County Police Department.

COLUMBIA, MD — The following information about recent crimes in Columbia was provided by the Howard County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.
A woman was charged after using the key from a real estate agent's lock box to get into a home in the 9200 block of Curtis Drive. The burglary was reported at 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 22. Police responded and arrested a 52-year-old Annapolis woman, who has been charged with fourth-degree burglary and theft less than $100.
A window was pried open at a residence in the 10000 block of Wesleigh Drive. Nothing was reported stolen in the burglary, which happened at 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 22.

A burglar tried to get into a residence in the 6600 block of Windsor Court through a side window between 6:30 and 9 p.m. on Jan. 20. Nothing was reported stolen from the residence.
A 17-year-old from Capitol Heights was charged with burglary after a break-in at an apartment in the 6000 block of Majors Lane. A witness reported two people had forced their way into the apartment through a sliding glass door and arrested one of the suspects as he was leaving at 3:14 p.m. on Jan. 19. The second suspect got away.

A chainsaw was stolen from the Columbia Association barn in the 10100 block of Hyla Brook Road. The burglary happened between Jan. 16 and Jan. 17. The burglar(s) cut the lock to the barn.
Three teens were arrested and charged after a witness saw them inside a residence in the 8600 block of Hayshed Lane without permission. When they were confronted, they ran away. Two 16-year-old boys and one 17-year-old boy were charged with burglary after police tracked them down at 2:06 p.m. on Jan. 17. Nothing was reported stolen.
Vehicle Theft, Theft From Vehicle
Tags were stolen from a vehicle in the 8700 block of Hayshed Lane, reported at 2:41 p.m. on Jan. 22.
A Honda Accord was stolen from the 5600 block of Stevens Forest Road at 5:59 a.m. on Jan. 20. The vehicle has Maryland tags 30830CH.
