41 Kilograms Of Heroin Found At Jessup Truck Stop: U.S. Attorney
Federal charges may be filed after law enforcement officials said they witnessed a large drug transaction Thursday in Jessup.

JESSUP, MD — Three men face federal charges after authorities said they confiscated 41 kilograms of suspected heroin from them at a truck stop in Jessup this week.
Federal and state law enforcement officials had been investigating drug trafficking activities since 2015 and on Tuesday, May 30, received information about a possible transaction involving a Baltimore man.
Perry Brown, 53, was seen along with two others — Juan Olvera Morales, 34, of St. Anthony, Idaho, and Alfredo Manuel Nevares, 41, of West Valley, Utah — transferring several bags into a van at a truck stop in Jessup on Wednesday, May 31, according to the U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland.

Authorities tracked Brown using the GPS on his cell phone and found the suspected drugs wrapped in cellophane, according to WJZ.
Law enforcement who witnessed the transaction took the three men into custody.

Each has been charged with intent to distribute narcotics and conspiracy to distribute narcotics and could face a maximum of 20 years in prison.
According to the U.S. Attorney, there were many agencies that partnered and cooperated in the investigation. Among them were the DEA, Baltimore City Police Department, Baltimore City Sheriff's Office, Baltimore County Police Department, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Internal Revenue Service and Maryland Transportation Authority Police.
