50th Anniversary Celebration June 12 For Howard County General Hospital

Howard County General Hospital will celebrate its 50th anniversary this summer with a special Heroes in Health Care: Rock the Decades event.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Howard County General Hospital, a Heroes in Health Care: Rock the Decades will be held June 12 at 6 p.m. at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia.

The event will feature a music-through-the-decades-themed evening that starts with a VIP dinner followed by a backstage party with DJ Kopec at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks at 9 p.m. Zack Shariff, Howard Hospital Foundation board chair, and Louann Magi-Shariff are the honorary chairs of the event.

ā€œWhat better way to celebrate the hospital’s five decades of health care excellence than with a high-energy celebration in Columbia,ā€ said Dr. Shafeeq Ahmed, president of Howard County General Hospital. ā€œFunds raised from this event are critical to supporting our vision for moving health care forward in Howard County. This year’s Heroes in Health Care will recognize 50 years of caring for our community and offer a look forward to the hospital’s future.ā€
