93 Break-Ins Linked To 3 Columbia Men Under Arrest: Police

Three men face multiple theft charges in nearly 50 Columbia break-ins, police say, and may be tied to over 90 crimes in total.

COLUMBIA, MD — Three men face multiple theft charges in nearly 50 Columbia car break-ins, police say, and may be tied to over 90 crimes in total. Howard County Police say residents in the Hickory Ridge area complained about suspected drug-dealing in November 2018. Neighborhood Community Resource Officers investigated, and with help from narcotics detectives, pinpointed suspects and served multiple search warrants at a residence in the 11800 block of New Country Lane over the last 10 days.

A handgun, stolen shotgun, sawed-off shotgun, suspected crack cocaine and drug distribution paraphernalia were found during the search, police say. While in the home, officers recovered property thatwas reported stolen from a total of 93 vehicles dating back to March 2018.

Police on Friday said that Davon Kyree Holden, 21, Tyres Deontay Holden, 20, and Brice Laron Robinson, 23, all of New Country Lane, have been charged with multiple counts of theft scheme, theft, rogue and vagabond, malicious destruction of property and gun-related charges. Robinson faces an additional drug charge.

A fourth suspect, Brooke Johnson, 21, of Farewell Road, faces gun charges, but he is not charged in the car break-ins, police said.

Robinson and Johnson are being held without bond at the Howard County Detention Center. Tyres Holden is held on $1,500 bond and Davon Holden was still in the booking process on Friday.

Detectives linked some of the property to owners after finding vehicle registrations, wallets, purses, work ID cards and tax documents. Many items, including cell phones, backpacks, jackets and tools, have not yet been linked to a specific case.

Detectives ask victims of car break-ins in the West Columbia area to leave a message at 410-313-STOP or email HCPDcrimetips@howardcountymd.gov with their contact information, description of the item and case number if applicable. Victims should call whether or not they filed an initial police report at the time of the theft.
