Edgewater Acupuncture offers high quality, affordable acupuncture treatments to children and adults in a serene group setting where fees are based on a sliding scale of $15 - $35. Patients choose to pay what they can afford with no income verification required. Acupuncture helps a wide variety of ailments, including chronic pain, stress, anxiety, depression, infertility and migraine headaches.
“We are very excited about bringing acupuncture to Columbia at a price the average person can afford,” says owner and licensed acupuncturist Meaghan Massella Walker. “Typical fees for an acupuncture treatment range between $60-$150, unaffordable for most people.” Massella Walker grew up in Columbia, attending Oakland Mills Middle School and later Glenelg High School. She has a Masters of Acupuncture from the Maryland University of Integrative Health, formerly known as the Tai Sophia Institute in Laurel, Md. “Its been a dream of mine to make affordable acupuncture available to my hometown for a long time.”
Edgewater Acupuncture first opened in April 2010 in Edgewater, Md. Since opening, the clinic has provided over 14,000 treatments. Edgewater Acupuncture is a member of the People’s Organization of Community Acupuncture, a co-op of affordable acupuncture clinics around the country, which in 2013 provided over 900,000 acupuncture treatments nationwide according to their annual survey.
