Suspected Gas Station Shooter In Custody In Another State

COLUMBIA, MD — The woman wanted in connection to the shooting of a Shell gas station clerk April 18 has been arrested in another state on unrelated charges.

Howard County Police announced Tuesday that Shantay Lashay O’Donnell, 46, of Virginia has been identified as the shooter in the attempted robbery and shooting of a Shell gas station clerk located in the 7200 block of Cradlerock Way of Columbia.

O'Donnell will be served with multiple charges from Howard County in the coming days, at which time additional information will be released by the police department.

On Monday, the police department released surveillance video of the shooting and upped its reward offering to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.

The store clerk remains at University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in serious condition.
