On Monday, the police department released surveillance video of the shooting and upped its reward offering to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. They credit that video going viral for leading to O'Donnell's arrest.

Officers in New York had an interaction with O’Donnell and determined she was wanted in Virginia on unrelated robbery charges. Police in New York reported that after taking O’Donnell into custody, they recognized her from a video released on social media by HCPD the previous day as the unidentified shooter at a Columbia gas station. Authorities reached out to Howard County detectives to provide O’Donnell’s identity and to report she was in custody.
