COLUMBIA, MD — Crews are installing a stretch of sidewalk along Snowden River Parkway between MD 108 and Tamar Drive that should wrap up mid-November, but temporary lane closures will be needed for the duration of the project.
Officials say the project will bolster neighborhood connectivity and heighten accessibility to Long Reach High School by closing a gap in the sidewalk network between MD 108 and Tamar Drive.
Temporary lane closures of the right southbound lane along Snowden River Parkway should be anticipated by drivers and pedestrians during the project's construction hours, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
"Every neighborhood deserves safe, connected infrastructure that makes it easier for residents to walk, bike and get where they need to go," said Howard County Executive Calvin Ball. "By closing this sidewalk gap along Snowden River Parkway, we're creating a more connected and walkable community while improving pedestrian access to nearby destinations."
