'Celebrating Community: Columbia and Howard County' Exhibit On Display

The Bernice Kish Gallery at Slayton House, 10400 Cross Fox Lane, Columbia, Maryland, is pleased to announce a special exhibit in celebration of Columbia and the surrounding community in the galleries for June, July and August 2017. Mary Jo Messenger will exhibit portraits representing the diversity of Columbia in the Lobby Gallery and Oda VonBerg will exhibit paintings of the Howard County countryside in the Bill White Room Gallery. The exhibit, titled “Celebrating Community: Columbia and Howard County,” will be on display from June 19 – August 14, 2017.

Mary Jo Messenger, a retired mathematics teacher, studied art at Howard Community College and then with David Zuccarini at the Howard County Center for the Arts. She has had previous exhibits at the Bernice Kish Gallery as well as the Howard County Arts Council Celebration of the Arts at HCC, and the Patuxent Art League.

Oda Von Berg, an avid gardener and animal lover, has been painting her surroundings for more than 30 years. She studies with David Zuccarini at the Howard County Center for the arts.
