Back To School: HCPSS 2021-22 School Calendar

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Howard County with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Howard County Public School System.

The first day of school for most students in Howard County is Aug. 30.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point.

Masks must be worn this fall on HCPSS buses, in school buildings and, for unvaccinated individuals, are recommended to be worn outdoors. Like last year, these policies could change any time before the first day

Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

Howard County Public School System

First Day: Aug. 30

Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 25-26

Winter Break: Dec. 23 - Jan. 2

Spring Break: April 11-14

Last Day: June 14
