BB Gun Incident At Wilde Lake High School Reported

A student allegedly brought a weapon to Wilde Lake on Monday.

COLUMBIA, MD — A student brought a BB gun to Wilde Lake High School on Monday, Principal James LeMon said in a statement Monday evening. The student reportedly showed another student the weapon in the bathroom at the school, which is located in the 5400 block of Trumpeter Road.

Weapons are prohibited on school property, on school buses, in vehicles on school property and at school-related activities, the Howard County Public School System's student handbook states.

Disciplinary actions for violating the policy may range from meeting with administrators to moving the student out of the school. Decisions are based on a variety of factors, including the severity of the incident and the student's history.
