Columbia, MD – The Board of Trustees of Howard Community College (HCC) has changed the meeting time for the December 9, 2020, meeting from 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

As originally announced, this meeting will also include a closed session. The board of trustees of Howard Community College is authorized to conduct certain portions of its meetings in closed session under the Maryland Open Meetings Act, Title 3 of the General Provisions Article § 3-305 (b). Therefore, the board will conduct a portion of its December 9, 2020, meeting in closed session at the conclusion of the regular meeting (1) “To discuss the appointment, employment, assignment, promotion, discipline, demotion, compensation, removal, resignation, or performance evaluation of an appointee, employee, or official over whom this public body has jurisdiction; or any other personnel matter that affects one or more specific individuals” and (7) “To consult with counsel to obtain legal advice” and that such meeting shall continue in closed session until the completion of business.

Please Note: Due to COVID-19, meetings for the remainder of fiscal year 2021 will most likely be held online via Zoom. In-person large gatherings will be continually evaluated related to health and safety requirements to determine if meetings can resume being held at the college. Meeting materials are posted seven days in advance and should be consulted for confirmation of time and online information or location.
