'Bowling With Badges' Event Raises Money For Howard County Police Foundation
The Howard County Bar Association first created this event in 2011. More than $13,000 has been raised to support the non-profit.

From the Howard County Police Foundation: The proceeds from the Howard County Bar Association’s Bowling with Badges event were delivered to the Howard County Police Foundation during a brief presentation on December 13. Assistant State’s Attorney and Bowling with Badges organizer Elizabeth Rosen, and bar association president-elect Ryan J. Dymek presented a check for $4,500 to police foundation chair Kyri Jacobs and police Chief Gary L. Gardner in advance of a police briefing held at the Southern District Police Station.
Chief Gardner noted that since the bar association first created the charity event in 2011, more than $13,000 has been raised to support the non-profit police foundation that funds and promotes programs to improve public safety, and to help the families of injured and fallen officers. Gardner and Jacobs presented a certificate of appreciation to Rosen in thanks for the bar association’s fundraising support.
This year’s bowling event was held June 3 at Brunswick Columbia Lanes. The event brought together a diverse group of bowlers including prosecutors, police officers, lawyers, along with their families, who bowled the night away to raise funds for the police foundation.
