Columbia Association Hosting Youth Hip Hop Dance Off on May 3

The ultimate hip-hop dance experience for kids will take place this May in Howard County, when Columbia Association (CA) hosts a Hip-Hop Dance Off for youth of all ages.

The Hip-Hop Dance Off is being held on Friday, May 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Columbia Athletic Club, which is located at 5435 Beaverkill Road near the Harper’s Choice Village Center.

Dance performer Ms. Christine will lead youth as they learn a routine that incorporates popular line dances. Kids will then be divided into two different teams, which will “battle” in a dance-off. The event also will include dance games, music, concession stands, a VIP booth, and arts and crafts — including live demonstrations by Columbia Art Center instructors who teach urban street art, illustrations and comic book drawing. Kids will also work together to create a mural.

Tickets are available at any of CA’s KidSpace locations or can be purchased on the night of the event at the door. One ticket gives admission to an individual plus his or her immediate family members. Tickets are $10 for CA member families, $12 for CA resident families and $14 for non-member families. Purchase before May 1 to receive a $2 discount on ticket prices.
