Break-In Attempt Reported at Drive-Through Window: Columbia Crime
Recent crimes reported in Columbia also include home burglary and vehicle theft.

The Howard County Police Department provided the following information about crimes recently reported in Columbia.
A man was confronted while trying to get into a residence in the 5300 block of Columbia Road at approximately 5:45 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7. The resident heard a noise and found someone was trying to open the front door.
Electronics and cash were taken from a residence in the 8700 block of Cloudleap Court. A man wearing a tan shirt and white pants/shorts allegedly forced open a window to get items around 11:39 a.m.on Sunday, Aug. 7.

A 2015 Ford Fusion was stolen from the 5600 block of Waterloo Road, reported at 9:49 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6. The vehicle has a Maryland tag that reads "2CC8639."
At 4:49 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, a neighbor reported a potential break-in at a residence in the 7200 block of Sleepsoft Circle.

The McDonald's in the 8600 block of Guilford Road was the site of an attempted burglary via the drive-through window. At 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, the burglary occurred; police said nothing was reported stolen.
