Carjacker Robbed Gas Station Near Columbia Crossing: Police

COLUMBIA, MD — Authorities are searching for a red Mini Cooper with front-end damage that was stolen by the suspect in a gas station holdup Monday morning in Columbia. The suspect is accused of crashing into the Mini after leaving the scene of a business robbery, then ordering the driver out of the car.
At approximately 10:45 a.m., police said a man walked into the Crown station in the 6300 block of Dobbin Road with a handgun and demanded money. He took off with an undisclosed amount of cash in a vehicle that had been stolen from another county, the Howard County Police Department reported.
Minutes later, the suspect allegedly hit a vehicle on Old Dobbin Lane at Dobbin Road. He pointed his gun at the woman driving the other vehicle and demanded she give him her red Mini Cooper, according to police.

He drove away in the woman's vehicle, which has front-end damage, a white top and Maryland tag 4BZ1261, officials said.
Nobody was injured in the robbery and the carjacking, police reported.

The suspect was described as a man of unknown race wearing a gray hoodie and gray pants.
Anyone who sees the vehicle or has information about the incidents is asked to call 911.
