Carson Scholars Fund Selects 26 HCPSS Recipients
Nine HCPSS students were named first-time Carson Scholars and 17 students are being honored as Recognized Carson Scholars.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Twenty-six Howard County Public School system students in grades fourth through 11th who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and humanitarianism have been named 2020 Carson Scholars.
Nine HCPSS students were named first-time Carson Scholars and 17 students are being honored as Recognized Carson Scholars. Carson Scholars must have a minimum GPA of 3.75 and display humanitarian qualities through community service. Recognized Carson Scholars have renewed their Carson Scholar status by maintaining high academic standards and a strong commitment to their communities.
Scholarships are awarded solely on the basis of academic achievement and humanitarian qualities without regard to financial need, ethnicity, creed or religion. Carson Scholars receive a $1,000 college scholarship award, an Olympic-sized medal and a trophy for their school.
