Celebrate The Holidays At The Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl In Old Ellicott City

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Residents can don an ugly holiday sweater and join in the festivities for Old Ellicott City's Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl Thursday at 6 p.m.

The ugly holiday sweater bar crawl starts at AxGuard on Main Street. The route works its way up and down Main Street where participants can enjoy drink specials, discounts, a live DJ and a sweater contest.

AxGard will be offering axe throwing specials while other participating business will have their own specials including Wine Bin, Phoenix, La Palapa, Backwater Books, Trolley Stop and Manor Hill Tavern.

The sweater contest will start at 9 p.m.

There's also a holiday drink contest happening along Main Street this month. The first of its kind in Old Ellicott City, the event encourages participating entities to compete for the honor of best holiday beverage, both non-alcoholic and alcoholic. Participating businesses and their contest entry include:

• Sugar Plum Tea and Pastry: Strawberry Mint Bliss
• Little Market Cafe: Reindeer Rush
• Georgia Grace Cafe: 1) Non-alcoholic entry: The Golden Ticket 2) Alcoholic entry: The Wonka
• Cozy Cafe: Candy Cane Lane!
• Ellicott Distilling Co: 1) Non-alcoholic entry: "Nice" The Chocolate Mocktail. 2) Alcoholic entry: "Naughty" The Spiked Cocktail
• Manor Hill Tavern: 1) Non-alcoholic entry: Chai Blossom Mocktail. 2) Alcoholic entry: Not the Gumdrop Buttons! Gingerbread Martini
• Crazy Mason: Rock'n Round the Tree Milkshake
• La Palapa: Winter Margarita

Voting on these drinks will conclude Dec. 27 and can be done online.
