Child Bicyclist Assaulted In Oakland Mills

Two people armed with a knife threatened a juvenile and slashed his bike tires in Columbia, police reported.

COLUMBIA, MD - Charges are pending after two people with a knife threatened a boy on a bicycle in Columbia this week, according to police.

Officials said the boy was riding his bike in the 5800 block of Stevens Forest Road at 8 p.m. on Monday when two people approached; one was a boy he knew.

The familiar boy showed he had a pocket knife and threatened the youth on the bike before slashing his bicycle tires and leaving, police reported.

Nobody was injured, and charges are in the process of being filed, the Howard County Police Department said in a statement Tuesday.
