Child Sexual Abuse Charges Filed Against Former Music Teacher From Howard County

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A 30-year-old Rockville man has been charged with sexually assaulting a female student over a two-year period when she was 12 years old. Priyant Sundas of Grosvenor Place faces charges of sex abuse of a minor while providing instruction at the Soundcheck Rock Academy, formerly known as the Columbia Rock School. The school is cooperating fully with the investigation, the police department noted.

The victim recently reported to police that the incidents involving Sundas occurred during one-on-one music lessons held between 2018 and 2020. After a detailed investigation, Sundas was arrested and is being held without bond at the Howard County Detention Center.
