Columbia Author Tackles Crowdfunding with Other Crime Writers
Columbia author crowdfunding two crime fiction ebooks with 13 other authors and donating her profit share to Ellicott City flood relief.

Columbia resident, Debbi Mack, author of the New York Times ebook bestselling mystery, Identity Crisis, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to support the publication of two collective ebooks: The Crime Cafe 9 Book Set and The Crime Cafe Short Story Anthology.
The books comprise the work of 14 authors, many of whom are crime fiction award winners or nominees. The authors include Austin Camacho, Bill Crider, Donna Fletcher Crow, W.D. Gagliani, Sasscer Hill, Jenny Milchman, M. Ruth Myers, Dale T. Phillips, A.J. Sidransky, Benjamin Sobieck, Jim Winter, Kenneth Wishnia, Frank Zafiro, and Debbi Mack, who compiled both books and contributed to the anthology.
“In 2015, I started a podcast called the Crime Cafe,” Mack said. “As part of an effort to promote all the authors I interviewed, I had each one contribute a book or short story to a collective package. I made it available for a very low cost from my website. However, that approach didn't succeed. I decided to create these ebooks, as a way of showcasing these talented authors.”

Mack has pledged that, should the campaign reach its $2,000 goal by the deadline, she’ll donate her share of the profits to the Ellicott City Partnership to assist the flood relief efforts.
The campaign has until September 11, 2016 to meet the deadline. Donations can be made here: https://igg.me/at/CrimeCafeStories/x/9153969
