Columbia Burglary Suspect Arrested For 3 Home Break-Ins: Police

After investigating three residential break-ins, Howard County Police believe they have identified the suspect responsible.

COLUMBIA, MD — Howard County Police have arrested a man they believe is responsible for three residential burglaries carried out in the Columbia area. Tyrek Javar Scott, 20, of Baltimore has been charged with multiple counts of burglary.

On Sept. 24, 2019, police say Scott entered the property at 5200 block of Hesperus Drive through a rear door and stole electronics, cash and jewelry.

On Jan. 27, police believe Scott entered an apartment located in the 5600/5700 block of Harpers Farm Road and stole a bicycle. Another resident reported a man entered his apartment in the 5700 block of Harpers Farm Road through a rear sliding door, then fled without stealing anything.
