Columbia Car Crash Claims Ellicott City Man's Life: Police Report

COLUMBIA, MD — A 19-year-old man from Ellicott City was involved in a fatal single-vehicle collision in Columbia May 14. At approximately 10:12 p.m., a 2005 Honda Accord was traveling north on Harpers Farm Road approaching Route 108 when it left the roadway and struck a tree, according to the Howard County Police Department.

Lance Christopher Mercy was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the driver and only occupant of the vehicle. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
