Columbia Christmas Stabbing Leads To Murder Charge

The man who stabbed two people at a Columbia convenience store turned himself in after video was released, police said.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The suspect in a deadly stabbing in Columbia has turned himself in, according to police. The Baltimore County man gave himself up to authorities after surveillance video was released to help identify those responsible, officials said. A woman who was with him at the time has been identified but not charged, police reported.

Damien Gary Clark, 41, of the 7500 block of Remoor Road, is being held without bail Thursday, court records show. He has been charged with second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

The charges stem from a deadly encounter at Trellis Center in the 10700 block of Hickory Ridge Road at 9:40 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 25.

Police responded to a report of two people stabbed there, and both victims were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. James Fallin Jr., 23, of Columbia, was pronounced deceased at shock trauma while Warner Jackson, 22, of Columbia, was treated and released.

Officials said they do not think that Clark knew the victims, whom he encountered inside and outside a convenience store at Trellis Center.

They got into a verbal confrontation that turned physical, at which point police allege Clark stabbed Fallin and Jackson before leaving the store with a woman.
