Columbia Community Building Speakers Series Presents UMBC President Freeman A. Hrabowski III

Hrabowski will be be the featured speaker at "Diversity Matters: Building on Columbia's History as an Inclusive Community" on May 5.

The next featured guest in Columbia Association’s (CA) Community Building Speakers Series is President Freeman A. Hrabowski III of University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Hrabowski was named one of “America’s Best Leaders” by U.S. News and World Report, one of the “100 Most Influential People in the World” by Time magazine, and was spotlighted by famed television newsmagazine 60 Minutes.

CA and the African American Community Roundtable of Howard County are pleased to present Hrabowski at “Diversity Matters: Building on Columbia’s History as an Inclusive Community.” The event will be held on Thursday, May 5, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Wilde Lake Interfaith Center, 10431 Twin Rivers Road in Columbia. It is free and open to the public. Registration is appreciated but not required via CADiversityMatters.EventBrite.com. Child care will be provided upon request.

Hrabowski is sure to inspire us as we think about the value of diversity in Columbia. A copy of his latest book, Holding Fast to Dreams: Empowering Youth from the Civil Rights Crusade to STEM Achievement, will be available for sale and signing after the event.
