Columbia Man, 2 Teens Charged With Child Porn Possession: Police

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Two men and two teens have been arrested by the Howard County Police Department and charged with possession of child pornography. In the past several months, Howard County police have followed up on numerous tips provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force related to the possession and sale of child pornography, the department disclosed.

Nicholas David Gehringer, 29, of Sharp Road in Glenwood, has been charged with four counts of possession of child pornography, according to the Howard County Police Department. Jawad Hyder Wagan, 32, of Tamar Drive in Columbia, has been charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography. Two juvenile males from Laurel also have been charged. Detectives do not believe the suspects produced child pornography nor do they believe the children depicted in the recovered images are known to the suspects, the department noted. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
