Columbia Man Pleads Guilty to Sexual Solicitation of Minor

The 32-year-old Columbia resident admitted to trying to meet a 13-year-old girl online for sex, according to Howard County officials.

A Columbia man pleaded guilty to sexual solicitation of a minor Thursday morning in Howard County Circuit Court.

Ryan Lee Parham, 32, of the 10000 block of Swansfield Road, arranged online to meet up with someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl, according to the Howard County State's Attorney's Office.

While chatting via Craigslist to an undercover officer posing as a minor, Parham allegedly expressed a desire to meet and engage in sexual activity with the minor, the state's attorney reported.

Parham was arrested May 24 when he drove to a Walgreen’s in Columbia thinking he would be rendezvousing with a 13-year-old girl and found police instead, officials said.

Howard County Circuit Court Judge William V. Tucker set sentencing for Feb. 21, 2017.
