Columbia Playground Struck by Arson Reopens: HoCo Officials
The playground at Dickinson Park has been rebuilt after fire.

COLUMBIA, MD — A section of Dickinson Park that has been closed since May is now open to the public again, Howard County Recreation and Parks announced this week.
The playground area was closed after an April 30 arson that caused $10,000 in damage to equipment, officials said.
Investigators charged a 12-year-old boy with malicious destruction of property in connection with the fire, police reported.

The area reopened this week, county officials said, issuing this statement: "The portion of the Dickinson Park playground that was set on fire and destroyed on April 30 has been rebuilt and is now open for play!"
