Columbia This Weekend: Film Festival, 'Chicago,' Breakfast
A film festival, wine glass painting, "Chicago" performance, mushroom growing class and other events are happening this weekend in Columbia.
COLUMBIA, MD — Here is a look at what is on our calendar this weekend in Columbia. Happenings range from a film festival at Howard Community College to a bowling fundraiser at Bowlero for HopeWorks of Howard County. There's also a dog show at the Howard County Fairgrounds, a Mardi Gras jazz concert and more.

Howard Community College Diversity Film Festival

Howard Community College (HCC) will host a Diversity Film Festival February 25 March 1, 2019. The collection of films honors the diversity within the college and the broader community, and were inspired by the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Centers (HVPA) season theme of Wonder. Free and open to the public, the festival features daily showings in the colleges Monteabaro Recital Hall, located within the HVPA, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia, MD. Click here for more.

Anna Deavere Smiths stunning play explores the people who experienced the Rodney King riots and the devastating human impact of that event. Living Well with Chronic Disease

Living Well with Chronic Disease is a six-week workshop for those living with or at risk for a chronic condition such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, depression, arthritis, lung disease and other long-lasting health concerns. Participants will learn techniques to cope with feelings of frustration, fatigue, pain and isolation, develop skills to communicate more effectively about their health and learn exercises and healthy eating habits to maintain and improve well-being.
