Cradlerock Store Robbed At Gunpoint: Police

Police said a man with a handgun took lotto tickets, cigarettes and cash from a Columbia business.

COLUMBIA, MD — A convenience store in Columbia was robbed at gunpoint Monday night, according to police. A man with a gun and his face partly covered is suspected in the robbery.

Police said that at 9:09 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 4, the man walked into Cradlerock Food Mart, where he showed that he had a handgun and demanded cash.

The employees complied, and he also took lottery tickets and cigarettes from the business in the 6800 block of Cradlerock Way, according to officials.

The suspect was described as a black man who was 30 to 40 years old, 5-feet-7-inches tall and of average build. Police said he was wearing a black hooded jacket and gray sweatshirt at the time of the robbery.
