Victims IDed In Fatal Crash Off Route 108 Into Little Patuxent
Police have identified two people found deceased in a car that went into the water off Route 108 Friday in Howard County.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Police have identified the two people found dead in a car submerged in the Little Patuxent River Friday off MD 108. A passerby walking in the area notified authorities at 12:50 p.m. upon seeing the vehicle in the water, officials said.
Timothy Antonio Jones, 35, of Baltimore, and Rickell Tareka Brown, 23, of Columbia, were found deceased inside the vehicle, according to police.
Based on the preliminary investigation, police said the vehicle went off the overpass on Route 108 near Columbia Road while headed west Friday morning and ended up in the Little Patuxent River.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
At that time the passerby saw the vehicle — a 2006 Acura TL — officials said it was mostly under water. The car was overturned, and two people were deceased inside when it was located.

Route 108 was closed for approximately three hours so that emergency officials could remove the vehicle from the water off Route 108 in the area of Columbia Road; westbound Route 108 was closed between Columbia Road and Woodland Road during the operation.
Crews used a crane to hoist the vehicle from the water, WBAL Radio reported at 3:30 p.m.
Before 5 p.m., authorities reported that Route 108 had reopened in the area.

INITIAL REPORT: Authorities have asked drivers to avoid an intersection in Howard County Friday afternoon due to a crash. The collision occurred in the area of MD 108 at Columbia Road, according to officials.
After 1 p.m., westbound Route 108/Clarksville Pike was closed at Columbia Road, the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services reported.
