Motorcyclist in Critical Condition After Crash in Highland, Police Say
BREAKING: Speed may have been a factor in the two-vehicle crash Sunday that sent one to shock trauma, Howard County police reported.

HIGHLAND, MD — A Savage man is in critical condition at shock trauma Sunday night after his motorcycle crashed into another vehicle on MD 216, according to the Howard County Police Department.
Michael Kessler Foster, 26, was driving a Yamaha R6S west on Route 216 when he lost control approaching a red light on Hall Shop Road and traveled into oncoming traffic, police said.
At approximately 2:47 p.m. on Sunday, Foster's motorcycle collided with a Hyundai Santa Fe that had been headed east on Hall Shop Road, officials reported.

Authorities say they are looking into whether speed may have been a factor in the collision.
Foster was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the SUV — Daniel Arthur Hardnock, 43, of Gaithersburg — was not injured, authorities reported.
Route 216 was shut down in the area of Hall Shop Road until approximately 4:15 p.m. police said.
