Delivery To Snarl Traffic On Little Patuxent Parkway

BREAKING: There will be delays on Little Patuxent Parkway due to a large delivery, with 15-minute stops possible.

COLUMBIA, MD — As the redevelopment of downtown Columbia takes shape, it may take a toll on traffic this week. The beams to the Crescent community are being delivered and will result in delays on Little Patuxent Parkway between Monday, March 6, and Wednesday March 8.

Nine bridge beams that are 205-feet long will be coming in on trucks, according to a statement from Howard County government officials.

Between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., drivers may experience delays, from Monday to Wednesday, with halts possible.

The delays are expected to be 15 minutes, with message signs alerting motorists to the change in traffic patterns.

The route for the delivery trucks is US 29 south to Broken Land Parkway north to Little Patuxent Parkway west to Merriweather Drive. The trucks will back into Merriweather Drive with assistance from the Howard County Police Department.
