Drag Racing A Growing Concern In Howard County, Residents Speak Out, Police Take Action
Residents spoke out at a recently held town hall meeting about drag racing in Howard County. Police officers plan to address the issue.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD ā Drag racing has become a problem in Howard County. Police officers spoke at a town hall meeting held Monday in Clarksville to address this growing concern.
Howard County police officers said they've seen a "significant increase" in car rallies since October 2020, WBAL-TV reports.
"It's completely changed the way we live our lives in our house," Clarksville resident Kerri Finkelston said at the town hall meeting.

Columbia resident Jennie Kwon, who owns Blowfish Poke in Clarksville, hosts cars and coffee sunset edition each week and said at the meeting she hopes the community sees the good that comes out of the car rally.
"We're having this event to support the local businesses. It's a family-friendly gathering, and it's very safe and we've had people call the police and the police will come and nobody's breaking any law whatsoever," Kwon said.

But neighbors disagree.
The Howard County Police Department said at the meeting it will create a new task force to address the issue.
