Driver, Passenger Killed In Columbia Single Car Crash: Police

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The driver and rear passenger of a vehicle involved in a single-car collision in Columbia March 22 have been identified. Eric Mutilu, 27, of Columbia, and Ali Mursal Ali, 26, also of Columbia, were pronounced dead at the scene. The front passenger, Jovan Roberts, 25, of Baltimore, remains in critical condition at University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., a 2008 Mazda 3 was traveling north on Snowden River Parkway past Good Hunters Ride when it left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a tree in the median. Police believe speed was a factor in the collision and the investigation is ongoing.
