Karate Cop? Not!
A dufus of a techie detective teams up with a talking dog (a Briard with a hair cut like a Doodle, voiced by Chevy Chase) who uses karate chops to solve a murder and win the girl cop for his guy.

Delightfully patriarchical bad guy Jon Voigt as you’ve never seen him before. . . . with bushy eyebrows to boot.

And quips adults may catch like Every Dog Has His Day or Dead Dog Walking.
But, on the whole, this is perhaps a one-star movie for the mannequin-like puppet-like non-dog-like Briard with the stand-uppy ears and a short haircut to mimic a stuffed Briard who can move around and jump and do fake karate chops and dance. The younger the kids, the more they will like it even with a fake dog they can see through. Others, not so much or maybe not at all.
