Elkridge Man Killed, Fire Set In His Home By Baltimore Man: Howard County Police

A Baltimore man has been charged in the death of an Elkridge man and for setting a fire in the Howard County man's home, police say.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD— Howard County police have charged a suspect with murder in the death of a man in his own Elkridge home March 3.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. Friday, police were called to the residence of 64-year-old James Sents Jr. in the 6000 block of Old Washington Road for a reported home invasion. When police arrived, they found a man later identified as Dennis Lee Graham, 38, of Baltimore inside the home and smoke coming from a bedroom.

According to the Howard County Police Department, officers found Sents Jr. dead and Graham was detained and later charged. Detectives believe that Graham broke into the residence and assaulted Sents Jr. The Baltimore man also set a small fire in a bedroom that was extinguished by first responders, according to a police report.

Detectives are investigating a motive and whether the suspect and victim knew each other.

Graham has been charged with second-degree murder, false imprisonment and first-degree arson.
