Emerging Leader Award Given To HCPSS Dance Teacher

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Kerry Johnson, a dance teacher at Hammond High School, recently received the 2021 Emerging Leader Award from the Maryland Dance Education Association. The honor recognizes Johnson’s hard work and dedication in the field of dance education as an undergraduate student and in transitioning to her career as a dance educator.

Johnson was selected for serving as a positive role model for all students and her dedication to professional growth. Johnson is in her first year teaching at Hammond, which also is her alma mater.
