Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Columbia's New Dog Parks. . .
. . . but were afraid to ask!
EverythingDogBlog #167: More about Columbia's New Dog Parks
1. Dogs must be registered annually, be licensed and have a rabies certification to wear a Dog Park tag which must be on each canine in the Park. CA personnel will be present at the Grand Opening to register dogs. The fee is $35 a year for CA residents with one-day passes available. Three dogs per household may be registered but a human (18 or older) may take only two dogs to the park at a time. Registration forms are available here.
2. Pit Bulls are permitted. More on this.

And, guess what? There are two dog parks! A big one (2 acres) for big dogs (over 25 pounds) and a little one (0.7 acres) for little dogs (under 25 pounds). But that means if your dog weighs exactly 25 pounds, he is out of luck!
Have Fun But Remember. . . .
Have fun but remember that you are there with your dog and for your dog. Keep your dog in sight at all times so you notice when he poops or starts to become overexcited. That way, you can scoop the poop or be proactive before a tussle erupts.
No smoking, no eating (dogs or people), no training
No pups or people under 4 months. As a matter of fact, no people under 12.
No glass containers
Dog-friendly and people-friendly dogs only (more on socialization later)
Dogs and people only (no cats or bunnies or other animals – this is a DOG park)
REMEMBER – Scoop that Poop!
