Five Robberies in Nine Days: Columbia Crime
Home invader seeking prescription meds, woman threatened by acquaintance were two of five recent robberies reported in Columbia.

COLUMBIA, MD — The Howard County Police Department provided the following information about recent incidents in Columbia. Arrests do not indicate convictions.
A woman was robbed by a man she knew. The two were in a residence in the 10500 block of Jason Lane when the man showed what looked like a knife and demanded her property. She complied and left the residence. Nobody was injured in the robbery, which occurred at 3:53 a.m. on Feb. 8.
Two suspects demanded the wallet of a pedestrian on a walking path in the 8900 block of Old Montgomery Road. When the pedestrian did not have a wallet, they stole his eyeglasses and gloves. Nobody was injured in the robbery, which occurred before 5 p.m. on Feb. 6.

Residents were robbed by someone who came to the door, forced his way in, showed a handgun and demanded prescription medication at 10:23 a.m. on Feb. 1. The residents complied and the suspect left. The robbery happened in the 5900 block of Turnabout Lane. Nobody was injured. The suspect was described as a thin black man between 5'10" and 5'11" tall, wearing a dark sweatshirt and dark pants.
Three young men robbed a taxi driver of his wallet in the 7200 block of Procopio Circle. As the result of a search by officers of the area, one 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with robbery, assault and theft. Two other suspects remained at large. The crime occurred at 9:36 p.m. on Feb. 1.

Three suspects approached a man in the 5900 block of Stevens Forest Road. One showed a handgun and demanded money; when the victim complied, the suspects took off. Nobody was injured in the robbery, which occurred at 3:01 p.m. on Jan. 31.
