Food Truck Employee Robbed At Gunpoint In Elkridge: Police

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — An employee of the El Sopon Mexican Food Truck was robbed at gunpoint last week.

According to the Howard County Police Department, the food truck was parked in the 6100 block of Meadowridge Road in Elkridge. The employee was robbed shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday.

“A food truck employee reported that he was approached by a male suspect who displayed a gun and demanded money,” according to a police report. “The employee compiled and the suspect fled. No one was injured.”

The suspect was described as having chest-length dreadlocks and was wearing a camo hoodie and dark pants.

As they've grown in popularity, food trucks have become a more common target for criminals who tend to rob the employees or steal the entire vehicle. Last summer a food truck was stolen out of Montgomery County. The $50,000 food truck was found completely gutted in Charles County.
