Fuel Spill On I-95 Near Route 216 Slows Traffic
BREAKING: The Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services says a hazmat team was tending to the fuel spill.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A disabled tractor trailer snarled traffic for drivers on Interstate 95 in Howard County midday Wednesday, officials say. The slowdown occurred on I-95 south in the area of Route 216, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services, which reported a fuel tank spill was involved.
By 12:40 p.m., fire and rescue personnel said that the fuel spill had been contained, and transportation officials indicated all lanes had reopened.
The tractor trailer became disabled on I-95 south past the exit for MD 216/Scaggsville Road at approximately 11:45 a.m., transportation officials said.

After 12:30 p.m., the right lane and right acceleration lane were closed in the area.
A hazardous materials crew was dispatched because of a fuel spill, Howard County fire and rescue officials said. By 12:40 p.m., officials said the fuel situation was secured.
