Girl Power Mentorship Program Coming To HoCo Elementary School
WKD will lead discussions at Deep Run Elementary School on topics such as life skills, bullying, fitness, leadership and confidence.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Fourth and fifth grade girls at Deep Run Elementary School can engage in a Girl Power mentorship program that will be brought to the school by WKD Karate 4 Girls. WKD will lead discussions on topics such as life skills, bullying, fitness, leadership and confidence. WKD also will offer workshops for DRES staff on topics such as personal safety and wellness.
The formal partnership agreement was signed by HCPSS Superintendent Michael J. Martirano, Deep Run Elementary School Principal Denise Lancaster and WKD Karate 4 Girls Master Monique Washington-Jones. WKD Karate For Girls is a martial arts leadership academy offering karate classes, self defense workshops, after-school programs, empowerment lectures, summer camps and mentoring programs.
