Golf Cart Blaze in Columbia Spreads Inside Garage: Officials

COLUMBIA, MD — A golf cart caught fire inside a garage in Columbia on Saturday afternoon, according to emergency officials. There was no structural damage as a result of the blaze, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

First responders said they had knocked the fire in the 1200 block of Hickory Ridge Road before 1:30 p.m. It had spread to other items in the garage besides the golf cart, officials said, but it did not go outside the structure, which was detached from the nearby apartment complex.

At 2:35 p.m., authorities said the fire was completely out.
