Howard County School Calendar: Winter Break, Other Dates To Know

Anne Arundel County Public Schools students are on break. Here's a reminder of important dates and holidays in the next few months.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — With Anne Arundel County Public Schools students out of school for the holidays until the new year it's a good time to note upcoming dates kids are out of class. Schools will reopen Jan. 2 with a B Day.

Howard County Public Schools System has set its 2019-2020 calendar, but notes that the dates listed are subject to change.

There will be a three-hour early dismissal April 3 that marks the beginning of spring break during which time schools will be closed April 6-13.

Five make-up days due to inclement weather have been built into the end of the calendar year.

  • 12/23: School closed
  • 12/24: School and offices are closed
  • 12/25: School and offices are closed
  • 12/26: School closed
  • 12/27: School closed
  • 12/30: School closed
  • 12/31: School closed
  • 1/1: School and offices are closed
  • 1/2: Second semester begins
  • 1/20: School and offices are closed for state mandated holiday
  • 1/22: High schools only dismiss three hours early; no half day pre-K/RECC
  • 1/23: High schools only dismiss three hours early; no half day pre-K/RECC
  • 1/24: High schools only dismiss three hours early; no half day pre-K/RECC
  • 1/27: Schools closed for students
  • 2/3: Report cards issued
  • 2/13: Elementary schools only dismiss three hours early for parent/teacher conferences; no half day pre-K/RECC
  • 2/14: Elementary schools only dismiss three hours early for parent/teacher conferences; no half day pre-K/RECC
  • 2/17: School and offices are closed for state mandated holiday
  • 3/6: Interim progress reports issued
  • 4/3: All schools dismiss three hours early for parent/teacher conferences; no half day pre-K/RECC
  • 4/6: School and offices are closed
  • 4/7: School and offices are closed
  • 4/8: School closed

School officials anticipate the last day of the 2019-2020 school year falling on June 15.
