COLUMBIA, MD — The Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Service said that firefighters Dain Yakich and Barry Griffin have headed to Orlando, Florida, to set the stage for emergency responders to cope with the wrath of Hurricane Dorian as it wreaks havoc on the area. They are in Florida as part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's urban search and rescue team.

The hurricane's eye is over Florida and slowly moving north-northwest. According to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Service, Yakich was deployed to Florida in 2018 with the Urban Search and Rescue Maryland Task Force 1 to help with Hurricane Michael response operations and assisted in the Carolinas, too.
