HoCo Offices, Animal Shelter Closed For Good Friday, Easter 2021
County operations will resume April 5 with regular business hours.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — In observance of the Good Friday holiday that falls on April 2, Howard County government offices and the animal shelter will be closed. Maryland courts and the county’s Alpha Ridge Landfill will be open and regular trash, recycling, food scrap and yard trim services will be offered. The county’s 50+ centers remain closed currently due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks’ Gary J. Arthur, North Laurel and Roger Carter Community Centers, county parks and Robinson Nature Center will be open on Good Friday; however, the Cedar Lane and Schooley Mill activity rooms and the Meadowbrook Athletic Center will be open for scheduled programs only. While recreation and parks community centers and facilities will be closed April 4 for the Easter holiday, county parks will remain open. County historic sites remain closed for the season and reopen May 1.

The Regional Transportation Agency will operate on a regular weekday schedule. For more information about the RTA, call 1-800-270-9553 or visit www.transitrta.com. All parking regulations and fees will be in effect on Good Friday, but not Easter Sunday.
